Introduction
Caribbean Trades Connect ("CTC", "we", "us" or "the Platform") provides an online marketplace that helps customers, businesses, property managers and other users discover, communicate with and engage independent contractors, tradespeople, technicians, consultants and other service professionals. CTC facilitates connections. CTC is not the contractor, service provider, employer, agent, partner or representative of professionals listed on the Platform.
Independent service providers
Providers using CTC operate independently and are responsible for the services they offer, information contained in their profiles, quotations, schedules, materials, workmanship, employees or subcontractors, warranties and compliance with applicable laws. Unless expressly stated otherwise, CTC does not supervise, direct or control how a provider performs a job. Any agreement for services is made directly between the customer and selected provider.
Verification does not guarantee performance
CTC may display statuses such as Registered Provider, Identity Verified and Verified Professional. These statuses indicate only that specified information or evidence has been reviewed according to CTC's verification process. Verification does not constitute a guarantee of workmanship, an endorsement or recommendation, a guarantee of honesty, reliability or future conduct, certification that a provider is suitable for every project, insurance coverage, a government licence, or a guarantee that a project will be completed successfully. Customers remain responsible for evaluating providers and making their own hiring decisions.
Licences, qualifications and regulated professions
Some services may require professional registration, licences, permits, insurance, certifications or other regulatory approvals. Providers are responsible for ensuring that they are legally entitled and appropriately qualified to provide services they advertise. This is particularly important for regulated or specialist services such as engineering, architecture, electrical work and other professional or technical services. Where CTC displays credentials or professional information, users should understand what CTC has actually verified and independently confirm any licence, registration or qualification important to their project. CTC does not represent that every provider listed on the Platform is licensed where licensing may be required.
Quotes and pricing
Prices, quotations, estimates, timelines, materials and other commercial terms are provided by individual service providers. CTC does not set provider prices and does not guarantee that a quotation is the lowest available price, an estimate will equal the final cost, materials will remain available, work will be completed within the estimated period, or additional work will not become necessary. Customers should review scope, exclusions, payment terms, material specifications and warranty conditions before accepting a quotation.
Payments
During the current version of CTC, payments for services are arranged directly between customers and providers unless the Platform expressly introduces a CTC payment feature in the future. CTC is not responsible for cash payments, bank transfers, deposits or other payments made directly between users. Users should maintain appropriate receipts and transaction records.
Work quality and warranties
The provider performing the work is responsible for workmanship, materials supplied by that provider and any warranty offered. A warranty displayed through CTC is a warranty offered by the provider unless expressly stated otherwise. CTC does not independently provide or guarantee provider warranties.
Reviews and ratings
Reviews and ratings reflect the experiences and opinions of individual customers. CTC may restrict reviews to eligible platform jobs and may moderate content for matters including abuse, fraud, privacy violations, discrimination, threats or spam. CTC does not guarantee that another customer will have the same experience. Ratings should be considered as one source of information when making a hiring decision.
Choosing a provider
CTC may use service category, location, availability, specialty, preferred-provider relationships and other relevant information to identify potential providers. CTC may also allow customers to sort or filter providers. The customer makes the final hiring decision. CTC does not determine that one provider is automatically the best or most appropriate professional for a particular project.
Emergency requests
An Emergency or Urgent designation communicates priority to relevant providers. It does not guarantee immediate response, provider availability, emergency attendance, completion within a particular period, or suitability for life-threatening situations. CTC is not an emergency-response service. Where there is an immediate threat to life, safety or property, users should contact the appropriate emergency service or authority.
Safety and site conditions
Customers and providers are responsible for maintaining appropriate health, safety and security practices at job sites. Providers are responsible for determining whether work can be performed safely and whether specialist equipment, permits, isolation procedures or other precautions are required. Customers should disclose known hazards and relevant property conditions before work begins.
Property damage, injury and loss
CTC facilitates introductions and platform workflows but does not perform the work. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CTC is not responsible for losses, injuries, property damage, delays or disputes arising directly from services performed by independent providers. Nothing in this disclaimer is intended to exclude any legal right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Off-platform dealings
CTC provides messaging, job history, quotations, reviews and other functionality intended to maintain useful records. Where users choose to communicate, hire or transact outside CTC, the Platform may have limited ability to investigate a dispute, verify what occurred or maintain complete records. Users remain responsible for agreements or transactions conducted outside the Platform.
Professional advice
Profiles, messages, quotations and other information displayed through CTC should not automatically be regarded as professional engineering, architectural, legal, financial or other regulated advice. Where a project requires professional design, certification, approval or specialist advice, users should ensure that the person engaged possesses the appropriate qualifications and authority.
Platform availability
CTC aims to provide reliable marketplace services but does not guarantee that the Platform will always be uninterrupted, error-free or continuously available. Features, categories, geographical coverage and provider availability may change as the Platform develops.
Disputes
CTC may provide reporting and support tools that allow users to document issues and communicate about disputes. CTC's involvement does not make CTC the contracting party and does not mean CTC acts as a court, arbitrator, insurer or regulator. CTC may take action regarding use of the Platform, including review of reports or account suspension, without determining legal liability between users.
Caribbean expansion
CTC may operate in more than one Caribbean market. Service requirements, licences, regulations and consumer rights may vary by country. Providers and customers are responsible for complying with laws and regulatory requirements applicable in the country where services are performed.
Acceptance
By using Caribbean Trades Connect, users acknowledge the marketplace role described above. Use of the Platform is also subject to the applicable Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Verification Policy, Review Policy and Acceptable Use Policy.
